How to find us
"IF it's raining, we MAY be under the pavilion on mkt square, but check Krutch Park first."
The vigil will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. this Friday, Feb. 29, in the
middle of downtown Knoxville at the entrance to Krutch Park (across
Union Avenue from Market Square). Candles will be provided, but bring an
umbrella. If it is raining, we MAY be at the Pavilion at the other end
of Market Square.
After 6 p.m., there is free parking in the parking garage behind Market
Square. There are entrances to the garage on Walnut Street (which runs
by the library all the way to Summit Hill) and on Wall Street (which
separates Market Square from TVA).

This vigil is important for many reasons, not the least of which is to
show support for our own lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth
who are harassed verbally and physically in schools and other places
right here in East Tennessee every single day.
Sorry for the late notice.
This vigil is sponsored by the Gay Straight Alliance at West High
School, Greater Knoxville PFLAG, Metropolitan Community Church, and
Spectrum Cafe. (Spectrum is a program at Tennessee Valley Unitarian
Univeralist Church that provides a safe harbor and social gathering
places for teens who self-identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or
transgender).
